The “GOM Menu” refers to the menu that appears with you click the “GOM” icon at the top left of the Main Window, or when you right-click the playback area.

Open File(s)…


Selecting this option will open the file browser in Windows Explorer and allow you to select individual files to open, but not folders. You can also open this window by pressing [F2] (unless you change the setting under “Default” in the “Open” section of the GOM Menu). GOM Media Player - Open File window

This will open a sub-menu that will list various options for opening files.

- Easy Browser…
This option will open the Easy Browser window which lets you browse your disk drive(s) for files without using Windows Explorer.

- File(s)…
This option will open the file browser in Windows Explorer and allow you to select individual files to open, but not folders. You can also open this window by pressing [F2] (unless you change the setting under “Default” below).

- URL…
Select this to bring up the Open URL window.
GOM Media Player - Open URL window
Enter the URL you want to stream into the white box next to “Open”, then click the [OK] button to open the URL. You can also access URL lists from this window. The name of the currently loaded URL list will appear in the box under “URL-List File”, and the URLs that are on the selected list will appear in the large white box. There is only 1 sample URL on the default URL list.

- Directory…
This option will bring up the Open Directory window, which allows you to load the contents of an entire folder at once. You can’t open individual files using this option.

- Default
This refers to which open method (Easy Browser, File(s), Directory, or URL) is launched when you push the Play button on the main window (when no file is loaded) or use the [F2] shortcut key. This option is usually set to “File(s)”.

- Subtitles…
This brings up the Open Subtitles window in Windows Explorer to let you manually search for a subtitle file to open.

GOM Media Player - Open Subtitle window

- Easy Subtitles
This option lets you search for subtitle files manually by using the Easy Browser.

- Default DVD Drive
This option plays the disk that is currently in your systems default DVD drive (usually E:).

- DVD Files (.IFO)
This option opens the disk that is currently in your default DVD drive in Windows Explorer.

- CD Drive (E:)
This option plays the disk that is currently in your E: drive.
Note that if you have more than one disk drive, they will also be listed below the first CD Drive.

Close


Stops the file that is currently being played.

Favorites


GOM Media Player lets you add files and folders to a special favorites list that helps you access them more easily. You can read more about this feature on the Favorites portion of this guide.

GOM Media Player - GOM Menu - Favorites
- Add Current File
Adds the file that is currently playing to the Favorites list.

- Add Current Directory
Adds the Directory that contains the file that is currently playing to the Favorites list.

- Manage Favorites
Opens the Manage Favorites window.

GOM Media Player - Manage Favorites window
+ Click the [Add] button to add a file or directory via Windows Explorer.
+ Click the [Edit] button after you select on the list to edit that files name (on the favorites list) and path.
+ Click on the [Delete] button to remove the selected file or directory from your favorites list.
+ Click the [Clear All] button to remove all files and directories from your favorites list.
+ Click the [Open] button after selecting a file to open it in GOM Media Player. If you click the [Open] button after selecting a directory, it will open that directory.
+ Click the [Add to PL] button to add a file to the playlist. If you have a directory selected when you click the [Add to PL] button, it will open the directory and allow you to select which files to add to the playlist.

DVD Control


This menu will only appear during DVD playback.

- Previous Chapter
Skip to the previous chapter (keyboard shortcut [Page Up])

- Next Chapter
Skip to the previous chapter (keyboard shortcut [Page Down])

- Move
Jump to a specific chapter

- Audio Output
Select an audio track. This usually refers to a language track, and is only available on DVDs with more than one audio track.

- Subtitle Option
Select a subtitle track. Only available on DVDs that include subtitles.

- Root Menu
Return to the Root Menu of the DVD.

- Title Menu
Return to the Title Menu of the DVD.

- Chapter Menu
Move to the DVD menu that lets you select chapters.

- Audio Menu
Move to the DVD menu that lets you select audio (language) tracks. Only available on DVDs with more than one audio track.

- Subtitle Menu
Move to the DVD menu that lets you select subtitle tracks. Only available on DVDs that include subtitles.

- Angle Menu
This option is currently unavailable

Playback


This sub menu provides access to various playback controls and effects (such as playback speed adjustments).

- Bookmark
Open the Bookmark window to set and remove bookmarks on a file.

- Play/Pause
Pauses a playing video / audio file and resumes a paused video / audio file.

- Stop
Stops the file that is currently playing.

- Next frame
Skip ahead by 1 frame.

- Former frame
Skip backwards by 1 frame

- Speed – Normal
Set playback speed to default

- Speed – Down
Decrease playback speed by 0.1x

- Speed – Up
Increase playback speed by 0.1x

- Maintain Play Speed
This option will make speed adjustments carry over to the next file. For example, if you’re watching a video at 2.0x speed, then next video you open will also start playing at 2.0x speed instead of the default 1.0x speed.

- Use Voice Adjustment
This effect will allow you to increase the playback speed without altering the pitch of the audio track.

- Backward 10 sec
Move backwards 10 seconds.

- Forward 10 sec
Move forward 10 seconds.

- Backward 60 sec
Move backwards 60 seconds.

- Forward 60 sec
Move forward 60 seconds.

- Backward 300 sec
Move backwards 300 seconds.

- Forward 300 sec
Move forward 300 seconds.

- Restart the beginning
Start playing the file over again from the beginning.

- Move by Keyframe
Skip through the video based on Keyframes (during AVI playback)

- Previous Subtitle Position
Jump backward to where the previous subtitle started.

- Next Subtitle Position
Jump forward to where the next subtitle begins.

- A-B Repeat
Gives you access to the A-B Repeat controls that let you set / undo starting and ending points.

- Intro/Outro Frame Skip
This feature allows you to automatically skip portions of the beginning and end of video files. This is useful if you’re watching several episodes of a TV show in a row, and don’t want to watch the intro song and ending credits every time the file changes.

- Previous File/Chapter
Jump to the previous file on the playlist (or chapter of a DVD)

- Next File/Chapter
Jump to the next file on the playlist (or chapter of a DVD)

- Repeat Playlist
Toggle playlist repeat on and off.

- Shuffle Playlist
Toggle playlist shuffle on and off.

This menu contains options related to subtitle files and settings.

This menu contains options and controls related to video.

- Flip – Input
Flip video input vertically

- Flip – Output
Flip video output vertically

- Mirror – Input
Flip video input horizontally

- Mirror – Output
Flip video input vertically

- Use Default Screen Size
Always open videos at their default screen size

- Zoom In by Aspect Ratio
This option reduces the size of the video image so that the entire image will fit into a set aspect ratio.

- Zoom Out by Aspect Ratio
This option reduces the size of the playback area to a set aspect ratio, and crops out the portions of the video image that don’t fit within the selected aspect ratio.

- Zoom In/Out by Pixel
This option allows you to zoom in/out on the video image by pixel instead of aspect ratio

- Details
The contents of the Details menu changes depending on which Zoom setting you choose. If you choose “Use Default Screen Size”, this menu will be disabled. If you choose “Zoom in by Aspect Ratio” or “Zoom Out by Aspect Ratio”, this menu will allow you to choose an aspect ratio. If you choose “Zoom In/Out by Pixel”, this menu will display pixel zoom options.

- Advanced Screen Capture
Opens the Advanced Screen Capture window

- Open a Capture Folder
Opens the currently set video capture folder

- Copy the Current Frame
Copies the current frame to the clipboard

- Save the Current Frame
Takes a screenshot of the current frame and saves it to the default screenshot output folder.

- Create Snapshot Preview
Opens the Snapshot Preview window

- Set as Wallpaper
Takes a screenshot and sets the image as your desktop background

- Video Settings…
Opens the Video tab of the Preferences windows

- Blur
Applies the smoothen effect to the video image

- Sharpen
Applies a sharpen effect to the video image

- Noise
Adds a noise effect to the video image

- Reset Video Control
Resets all video settings to default

- Decrease Brightness by 2%
Decreases brightness levels by 2%

- Increase Brightness by 2%
Increases brightness levels by 2%

- Decrease Contrast by 2%
Decreases contrast levels by 2%

- Increase Contrast by 2%
Increases contrast levels by 2%

- Volume Down
Decreases volume output

Toggle mute on and off

- Advanced Audio Capture
Opens the Advanced Audio Capture window

- Open a Capture Folder
Opens the currently set audio capture folder

- Use Equalizer
Toggles the equalizer on and off

- Set Equalizer
Brings up the list of equalizer presets (this menu is only accessible when “Use Equalizer” is checked). You can make more adjustments and add custom equalizer presets on the Audio Tab of the GOM Media Player Preferences Window

- Normalizer
Toggles the Normalizer on and off

- Decrease Equalizer Level
Decrease the Normalizer level by 25%

- Increase Equalizer Level
Increase the normalizer level by 25%

- Audio Settings
Opens the Audio Tab of the GOM Media Player Preferences Window.

- Voice Filter
Allows you to change Voice Filter settings

- Reverb Effect
Toggles the Reverb effect on and off. You can make addition changes from the Audio Effects Tab of the GOM Media Player Preferences Window

- Extra-Stereo Effect
Toggles the 3D Stereo Effect on and off. You can make addition changes from the Audio Effects Tab of the GOM Media Player Preferences Window

- 0.1 second faster
Plays audio 0.1 seconds earlier.

- 0.1 second slower
Plays audio 0.1 seconds later.

- Default Audio Sync
Resets the audio sync to default

- Select Stream
Choose which audio stream to use on files that contain more than 1 audio track.

- Advanced Filter Settings
Opens the Advanced Settings Tabof the GOM Media Player Preferences Window. Below “Advanced Filter Settings” will be a list of the filters GOM Media Player is currently using. Click on any of these filters to display a detailed information window regarding its performance.

Aspect Ratio


This menu contains options related to aspect ratio and output display.

- Enable (Fit to Video)
Keeps the video’s default aspect ratio when resizing the playback window

- Enable (Fit to Window)
Keeps the “Full Screen Stretched” aspect ratio as you resize the playback window

- Disable
Unlocks the aspect window completely when resizing the playback window

- Default Aspect Ratio
Use the video’s default aspect ratio

- 4:3 (TV)
Use a 4:3 aspect ratio

- 16:9 (HDTV)
Use a 16:9 aspect ratio

- 1.85:1 (Screen)
Use a 1.85:1 aspect ratio

- 2.35:1 (Screen)
Use a 2.35:1 aspect ratio

- User Defined
Use a custom aspect ratio (set from the Aspect Ratio tab of the preferences window). Default custom ratio is 1:1.

- Monitor Output
Use the same screen ratio as your monitor output

- TV-OUT (4:3)
Use a 4:3 screen ratio

- TV-OUT (16:9)
Use a 16:9 screen ratio

Pan & Scan


This menu contains options related to video image size and position.

- Reset to Default
Reset Pan & Scan settings back to default

- Set Aspect Ratio
Choose from a list of Pan & Scan presets, or add/edit presets by selected “Edit Presets…”
Selecting “Edit Presets” will open the Pan & Scan Preset window.
GOM Media Player - Pand & Scan Preset window
+Click the [Add] Button to create a new preset using the current settings.
+Click the [Delete] Button to erase the selected preset.
+Click the [Up] and [Down] buttons to adjust the order in which the selected preset is displayed.
+Input the new preset name into the box next to “Name”
+Use the Pos input boxes to alter the position of the image within the playback window. The first box controls horizontal movement and the second box controls vertical movement.
※100 = Center
※0 = All the way left (when using the first box) or All the way down (when using the second box)
※200 = All the way right (when using the first box) or all the way up (when using the second box)
+Use the Size input boxes to stretch or squeeze image within the playback window. The first box controls horizontal changes and the second box controls vertical changes.

Make the playback window fill the screen (but not go into full screen mode). Aspect ratio is preserved.

- Fit to Video Input
Adjusts the window size to fit the video image, preserving aspect ratio and removing blank space.

- Full Screen
Playback area fills your entire monitor area and preserves aspect ratio (adding blank space if necessary)

- Full Screen Stretched
Playback image stretches to fill your entire monitor area and does not preserve aspect ratio.

- Full Screen Stretched (Keep Ratio)
Playback image stretches to fill your entire monitor area while preserving aspect ratio (zooming in instead of adding blank space)

Options


- Always on top
GOM Media Player will always appear as the front-most window on your desktop

- On top while playing
GOM Media Player will appear as the front-most window on your desktop when a file is playing.

- Shutdown once finished playing the current file
Shuts down your PC when the current file finishes playing

- Shutdown once finished playing the files in Playlist
Shuts down your PC when the end of the Playlist is reached

- Exit GOM Player once finished playing the current file
Quits GOM Media Player when the current file finishes playing

- Exit GOM Player once finished playing files in Playlist
Quits GOM Media Player when the end of the Playlist is reached.

- Minimize to task tray
This causes the Player to appear on / minimize to the taskbar. If this option is turned off, GOM Media Player will appear in / minimize to the notifications area.

- Play from the latest point
Use this option if you want to always start playing every file from the point you most recently stopped playing it.

Full Screen


Playback area fills your entire monitor area and preserves aspect ratio (adding black space if necessary).

Full Screen Stretched


Stretches playback image to fill your entire monitor area.

Preferences


Opens/Closes the Preferences Window

Control Panel


Opens/Closes the Control Panel window.

Playlist…


Opens/closes the Playlist window.

Playing File Info…


Displays detailed info about the file currently being played. This information is useful in determining the cause of playback issues, and should be included when submitting customer service claims.

About GOM Player…


Displays information about GOM Media Player such as current version and update history.

Exit


Quits GOM Media Player
